Keswick

With a population of less than 5,000, Keswick is a thriving 21st century tourist centre, situated in the beautiful Lake District on Derwent Water. This is the area of the North Lakes. In a landscape shaped by glaciers it is possible to escape the hustle and bustle of the modern world to relax and to enjoy the freedom and relaxation this area offers the visitor. Just a short distance from many of the industrialised cities of the north of England, the Lake District has remained one of the nation's favourite holiday destinations. Nestling in the picturesque valleys for which Cumbria is famous are holiday rentals to suit all budgets - cottages and lodges nestle among hills and trees. Writers such as Coleridge and Wordsworth stayed here and fell in love with the area. In 1835, Wordsworth wrote 'A Guide to The Lakes' which truly put the area on the tourist map. It was no coincidence that great painters such as Turner and Constable also felt inspired to immortalise the area in their paintings. This is an unforgettable area of England.
Visitors have flocked here for over 150 years – many returning time and time again. Today the little town of Keswick offers much to the visitor. There are art galleries, a museum, the Theatre By The Lake which is the home of summer productions, the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum as well as a pedestrianised market which is held in the main street on a Saturday.
Keswick welcomes visitors of all ages. Whatev

It nestles at the foot of mighty Skiddaw, a 3000’ mountain, facing due south and soaking up all the sun that’s going. So there it is; two lovely houses in a beautiful hamlet, just a couple of miles from Keswick, the prettiest town in the Lake District, -the best holiday location in the country.
